Probiotic Soda Mocktail Citrus (Printable Version)

Sparkling probiotic drink with citrus and herbs for a gut-friendly, refreshing beverage experience.

# Components:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes

# Method Steps:

01 - In a sanitized glass jar, dissolve the cane sugar in filtered water. Incorporate water kefir grains or ginger bug alongside the lemon juice. Stir gently using a non-metallic spoon to avoid culture degradation.
02 - Cover the jar securely with a breathable cloth or coffee filter held by a rubber band. Allow fermentation at room temperature (68–77°F) for 24 to 48 hours, monitoring until the base becomes lightly effervescent and pleasantly tart.
03 - Once optimal fermentation is achieved, strain out the kefir grains or ginger bug with a fine mesh strainer. Set cultures aside for reuse or discard as preferred.
04 - Transfer the fermented base to a pitcher. Add orange juice, lime juice, and mint leaves, stirring gently to infuse aromas and taste.
05 - Fill glasses generously with ice cubes. Pour the mocktail over the ice, finishing each portion with a thin orange slice and extra mint for presentation. Enjoy immediately to preserve carbonation.
