# Method Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly flour a work surface, roll out the puff pastry, and cut into 16 Christmas tree shapes using a cookie cutter or cut triangles to mimic the tree form.
- Place the cut puff pastry trees evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each pastry tree, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce-covered pastry.
- Top each tree with halved cherry tomatoes and sliced black olives to resemble holiday ornaments.
- Sprinkle dried oregano and freshly ground black pepper over the decorated pastry trees.
- Lightly brush the exposed pastry edges with olive oil to promote a golden finish during baking.
- Bake the pastry trees in the preheated oven for 16 to 18 minutes, or until puffed, golden brown, and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.
